Player of Year (POY) Flight Placement
*POY Flights

The USCGA Tour is divided into 2 divisions (Open & Masters) and 4 flights per division. A Tour player's USCGA Tour Index will determine placement into POY flights. The Tour Index is intended to group players into flights of similar ability to promote equitable competition.

A USCGA member acquires a USCGA Tour Index once he/she has played in three USCGA tournaments. Once a player has a USCGA Tour Index, that is the only criteria that will be used to flight him/her. A new member who has played in less than three USCGA tournaments will be flighted based on a current verifiable USGA Index if he/she has one. If not a USGA Index, then their average 18 holes score.

Open POY Flights (O1,O2,O3,O4) are for ages 18 plus.

Masters POY Flights (M1,M2,M3,M4) are for men ages 55 plus and Ladies ages 18 plus. Any player age 55+ or female player may opt to play in the Open Division but must play from the Middle tees for Men and Forward tees for Ladies.

Junior golfers age 16-17 that are either a family member or relative of a USCGA member are allowed to join the USCGA. He/she must also play and ride with family member or relative of USCGA member at each USCGA golf event he/she plays.

Age requirements based on what age one will turn in 2017. If a player doesn't turn 55 till 12/31/17, he is still eligible to player the Masters Division since he turns 55 in 2017.
